Godalming’s first defeat of pre-season came at the hands of Conference South side Farnborough. The visitors took an early lead through Dave Tarpey, before an own goal doubled their lead soon after. Mark Watkins went close for the Gs with a long range effort, whilst Jack Mazzone headed narrowly wide at the far post. Elvis Hammond lobbed Tom Boyle to give Farnborough a 3-0 lead within half an hour, before Tarpey headed home to make it 4-0 at half time.
An improved performance from Godalming in the second half saw the score stay at 4-0, with neither side particularly troubling the opposition keeper.
Godalming host Horsham at Wey Court this Saturday, before travelling to Egham Town on Tuesday and Uxbridge on Thursday.
Godalming made it four wins out of four with a 3-2 win over Sussex League side East Preston.
Godalming took the lead early on when Mark Watkins rounded the keeper well. East Preston equalised soon after, with the score staying 1-1 at half time. East Preston took the lead early in the second half, but Jack Broome leveled from the penalty spot after Watkins had been fouled. Adam Everiss scored the Gs winner with not long remaining, slotting the ball past the keeper and the defender on the line.
Godalming host Farnborough at Wey Court this Tuesday, kick off 7.45pm.

A Chris Musgrove hat-trick saw the Gs successful start to pre-season continue at Farnham Town last night.
After an even start to the match,left-back Musgrove gave the Gs the lead on the half hour mark with a header from Broome corner. Farnham then rattled Godalming’s crossbar, before Musgrove doubled the Gs lead with another header from a corner. Two minutes later and Mark Watkins was fouled in the area, leaving Jack Broome to convert from the spot. Musgrove completed his hat-trick just before half time, with a right footed effort from 25 yards that dipped just under the crossbar – leaving the keeper no chance.
Changes were made at half time, with Sam De St Croix coming on a right back, Justin Courtnage replacing Tom Boyle, Richard Taylor into defence and Graeme Purdy replacing Paul Coventry up front. Farnham pulled a goal back early in the second half, with the forward finishing well into the corner past Courtnage. Purdy had an effort well tipped over by the Farnham keeper, which was the closest Godalming came to adding to the scoreline.
Godalming travel to East Preston this Saturday, before hosting Farnborough at Wey Court on Tuesday.
Godalming’s pre-season campaign continued with a 3-0 win over Combined Counties Premier side Alton Town. Jack Broome captained the side, with newly appointed captain Richard Taylor unavailable.
It took the new-look Gs ten minutes to take the lead, with striker Paul Coventry pouncing on a ball back to the keeper, who he rounded to put the ball into an empty net. A well worked second goal came 20 minutes later,with Adam Everiss sliding the ball through to Bouwe Bosma who finished into the bottom corner. Coventry nearly made it 3-0, but his header from a free-kick came back off the post.
A number of subs were made at half time, but it took the Gs just a couple of minutes to get the third and final goal. Some excellent build-up play saw Coventry pass to Mark Watkins, who finished well into the bottom corner. Chris Musgrove hit the bar as the half drew on, but the scored stayed at 3-0 to continue the good start to pre-season.
Godalming travel to Farnham Town on Tuesday night, before travelling to East Preston next Saturday.
