Godalming exited the Red Insure Cup in the 3rd Round after a 2-0 defeat at Beaconsfield SYCOB. With all three centre backs missing,  the Gs started with midfielders Lee Wigley and Chris Wales as the centre back pairing. An even first half saw both sides create chances – Mark Watkins firing narrowly wide for Godalming early on, whilst Jack Broome cleared an effort off the Godalming line from a corner. Further chances fell to Watkins, Mazzone and Seabrook, but SYCOB keeper James Reading was equal to them. The home side took the lead on the half hour mark, when Tom O’Regan fired a low shot which beat Zaki Oualah at the near post.

The second half was a less eventful affair, and with Godalming not having played in over three weeks the Gs seemed to run out of steam. Kofi Lockhart-Adams lobbed Oualah on 65 minutes to double SYCOB’s lead, and the home side saw out the remainder of the half with relative ease to progress through to the Quarter Finals.

Godalming return to league action when we travel to Bridgwater Town this Saturday.
