Godalming slipped to their first league defeat of the season, despite leading 2-0 at half time. The opening stages of the game were played at a fast pace, with neither side managing to take control of the game. The Gs made the breakthrough in the 32nd minute, when Darren Wheeler broke into the box, and was taken down by a Biggleswade defender. Wheeler then stepped up to convert the resulting penalty. In the 44th minute a goalmouth scramble saw the hosts hit the crossbar, and then have an effort cleared off the line by Antonio Simeone. Two minutes later Warren Harris struck an effort from just outside the box which took a deflection, wrong-footing the keeper and finding the back of the net.
The second half was a more one sided affair, with the home side coming out much stronger. First of all Mason struck in the 54th minute to halve the deficit, then a defensive mix-up saw Donnelly equalise in the 68th minute. Daniel completed the comeback in the 87th minute when he fired into the corner. The Gs went close late on through sub Dan Read, but never really threatened the home sides goal in the second half.
Godalming XI: Somerville, Harrison, Hollis, Simeone, Lake, Edwards (Broome), McClurg, W.Harris, Wheeler, S.Harris (Foulser), Dyer (Read). Subs not used: Cooper, Baker.
