Chessington & Hook 2-3 Godalming Town

Godalming won 3-2 at Combined Counties side Chessington & Hook in the Surrey Senior Cup, on a sodden pitch which didn’t produce a particularly attractive game.

Town carried their form from Saturday into the first 20 minutes and looked likely to score early on. However the hosts slowly got back into the game and created a few chances. Godalming took the lead when Scott Harris finished from close range after Dan Read’s effort had come back off the post.

Godalming had a few chances to double the lead in the second half and saw Dan Read’s sharp finish ruled out for offside. Chessington were looking more dangerous though and equalised with 20 minutes remaining. Gs took ten minutes to regain the lead when Read hit the bar and Simeone produced a great finish to make it 2-1. Chessington equalised shortly afterwards though with a low shot into the corner but Darren Wheeler won the game in the 90th minute with a 30 yard dribble and then a composed finish.
