An excellent second half performance ensured the Gs of three points, meaning they rise to 4th in the league.
The first half was largely uneventful, with Scott Harris having Godalming’s best chance, but was denied by the diving Zawadski in the Crawley goal. Norris made a smart save at the other end from a dipping free kick, and both teams entered 0-0 at half time.
Scott Harris gave Godalming the lead on 55 minutes, when he headed home Adam Foulser’s knock down from a corner. Dan Read double the leads in the 75th minute with a fine finish from a tight angle, which went in off the post. Harris then grabbed his sixth goal in as many games, when he slid the ball through the keeper’s legs from close range. Jon Palmer rounded off the match with a fabulous volley from the edge of the box, which flew into the top corner.
The Gs face Folkestone Invicta at home this Tuesday 27th, kick off 7.45pm. After that the Gs welcome Conference North side Worcester City in the FA Cup with Budweiser.
