An uneventful match against the form team in the league saw Didcot Town run out 2-0 winners.
In a first half devoid of goalmouth action, Didcot’s Sam Elkins came closest to breaking the deadlock, but his header was saved well by the diving Zaki Oualah. Darren Wheeler and Graeme Purdy both had half chances for Godalming, but neither threatened the Didcot keeper.
The hosts took the lead in the 56th minute, when Josh Dutton-Black latched onto a through ball and lobbed the ball over the oncoming Oualah. Didcot double their lead soon after, when Luke Carnell headed in a John Mills cross. Snapshots from sub Jack Mazzone and Chris Wales were the closest Godalming came to breaching the Didcot defence.
Godalming travel to Shortwood United for the penultimate away game of the season, before hosting Stratford Town next Saturday.
Gs XI: Oualah, Broome, Miller, Musgrove, Hutchings, Kiri (Wigley), Wales, Bosma (De St Croix), Wheeler (Mazzone), Bowerman, Purdy.
