On a warm afternoon at Wey Court, goals from Adam Foulser and Scott Harris secured a win over a strong AFC Wimbledon side.
Wimbledon had a number of first team players in the lineup, but it was Godalming who exerted the early pressure, with Scott Harris heading narrowly over from a Darren Wheeler Cross. The Gs made the breakthrough after 9 minutes when a long Guy Hollis throw was headed in by captain Adam Foulser. Wimbledon came close soon after, but Kevant Serbony’s header was just wide. Godalming’s second came after 37 minutes, when Gav Smith’s through ball set up Scott Harris to calmly slot the ball past the keeper.
Wimbledon pulled one back 3 minutes in to the second half, when Chris Bush volleyed past Jamie Norris. Wimbledon had spells of pressure in the second half, but failed to find the net again.
Next up for Godalming are Combined Counties Premier champions Guildford City, in the CHASE Cup.
