Godalming fell to a 1-0 defeat against Faversham Town at Wey Court. Tom Hickman gave the visitors the lead after ten minutes when he was unmarked in the box and finished into the bottom corner. Gav Smith then rattled the Faversham post, and Brett Cooper’s shot flew past the post, but the Gs failed to find the equaliser.
Gav Smith headed over from 6 yards at the start of the second half, and Godalming continued to pile on the pressure throughout the second half, but failed to find a way past the excellent Rob French in the Faversham goal. Adam Foulser was sent off for Godalming late on, but then the Gs were awarded a penalty when a Faversham defender handled in the box, but Gavin Smith’s effort was well saved by French.
Next up for the Gs are Whitstable Town at home next Saturday.
