Godalming were eliminated from the FA Trophy after a poor performance against Southern League South West Division side North Leigh. The visitors had a golden opportunity to take the lead in the opening minutes, but the Leigh forward scuffed his simple chance wide of the open goal. North Leigh did take the lead after 21 minutes, when John Mills fired in what proved to be the only goal of the game.
The Gs exerted more pressure in the second half, but the visitors defence held strong. Johnnie Dyer had the best chance of the half, but his near post header from a corner went agonisingly wide. All three subs were made, with Godalming pushing three up front for the last 25 minutes, but they could not breach the North Leigh defence to force a replay.
Next up for Godalming is an away trip to Royston, where they will look to keep up their 100% league record.
