Godalming fell to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Whyteleafe, with both goals coming in the first half and the Gs reduced to ten men early on.
Godalming started the game brightly, with Wheeler causing the ‘leafe defence problems with his pace and trickery. A defensive error then allowed Whyteleafe striker Jay Garrick through to score one on one with Norris. Whyteleafe were then awarded a penalty when Damien Smith brought down the ‘leafe striker, and Smith received his marching orders due to being the last man. Whyteleafe Captain Fred Fleming fired the spot kick down the middle of the goal, but Norris saved well with his feet. Whyteleafe grabbed their second on 39 minutes, and went into half time with a two goal lead.
Ten man Godalming battled to reduce the deficit, but could not break through the Whyteleafe defence in the second half.
Next up is Wimborne Town away in the FA Cup on Saturday.
