Scott Harris score the only goal with just two minutes remaining to secure three important points for Godalming Town. Both sides produced a cagey opening half hour, with Brett Cooper coming closest for the hosts when his head went narrowly wide.
The second period produced a far more watchable match, with both sides stretching the opposition defences. Jake Somerville did well to parry a stinging shot from the Chipstead forward. Substitute Scott Harris had the best chance of the game so far when he was sent through by Josh Pearson, but his lobbed effort was straight at Steve Northwood in the Chipstead goal. Northwood was involved again moments later when he saved well from Dan Read and Brett Cooper. Chipstead had a golden chance to take the lead, but Andrew Dalehouse blasted over the bar from 8 yards. Godalming snatched the winner in the 88 minute, when Northwood parried a Jon Palmer effort, but Harris was on hand to poke home the rebound.
