An entertaining match at Wey Court saw the Gs draw 1-1 with fellow play-off contenders Maidstone United. Maidstone had the first chance of the game after 9 minutes, with Ryan Lake blocking Alex Waugh’s effort on the line. Godalming had a number of chances to take the lead before the break, with Daren Hawkes tipping Dan Read’s curling effort just round the post, and then Guy Hollis burst down the right hand side but fired his effort narrowly wide.
Dan Read had another chance 12 minutes into the second half when he shrugged off the Maidstone centre back, but saw his effort come back off the post. Substitute Darren Wheeler made an instant impact, with a whipped cross which was met on the volley by Read, only to see it rebound off the post once more. The last 20 minutes were end to end, with both sides going for a winner, and both goalkeepers pulling off some fine saves. On 84 minutes Jamie McClurg’s quick free kick released Scott Harris, whose fantastic half volley from outside the area found the far corner of the net. There was more drama to come however, when substitute Baff Addae drilled a low shot from outside the area, which beat Somerville to give Maidstone an 89th minute equaliser.
