Once again, Godalming let 3 points slip away in the final seconds, as they drew 1-1 with North Greenford United. With a few players missing, Gavin Smith started up front with Scott Harris, and it was Smith who gave Godalming the lead. With 22 minutes gone, Smith expertly curled the ball past the keeper, into the bottom corner. Despite controlling the first half, the Gs failed to carve out many clear chances, which would go on to prove costly.
The second half was largely uneventful, Godalming looked to be in control, though the visitors were defensively stable, Somerville was untroubled in the Godalming goal. Half chances fell to both Wheeler and Scott Harris, but as the game drew to a close, North Greenford had a golden chance, but a fantastic reflex save from Somerville saw the visitors win a corner. From the corner, Jake saved well, tipping the ball onto the crossbar, but the Greenford striker was on hand to tap in the rebound in the 93rd minute.
The Gs will have a chance to bounce back, as they travel to North Greenford in the league cup on Tuesday.
