Godalming Town 1-1 Northwood

A disappointing penultimate home game for Godalming saw them draw 1-1 with Northwood. An uneventful first half saw Godalming go close through a Darren Wheeler effort, whilst Northwood striker Oliver Hawkins was denied by Jake Somerville. The visitors took the lead when left back Lee Grant arrived at the far post and fired the ball into the roof of the net from a low cross.

Godalming pulled level three minutes into the second half, when the ball fell to Warren Harris who finished well into the corner. A scrappy half ensued, with Godalming not really troubling the Northwood defence, and the visitors hit the top of the Godalming bar with a looping volley. Some late Godalming pressure failed to see and real chances, and Godalming will now have to face the dreaded playoffs.

Godalming now face play-off chasing Beaconsfield SYCOB on Tuesday at Wey Court, before travelling to Woodford on Saturday.

Gs XI: Somerille, Harrison, Hollis, Foulser, Lake, McClurg, Broome, W.Harris, Wheeler, Dyer, Read (G.Smith).

Subs not used: Palmer, Cotugno, Marshall.
