Godalming Town made it 4 home wins out of their last 5 as George Frith struck a second half winner against out of form Chalfont St Peter.
After Tom Willment had given the Gs an early lead the visitors levelled when Tony Mendy made the most of a defensive mix up. However, just 3 minutes after the break Frith gave the hosts the lead again.
Godalming made a positive start to the game and took the lead after Graeme Purdy forced a save from Mickey Pearce just 2 minutes in, which resulted in a corner that Frith hung to the far post where Willment was on hand to tower above the Chalfont St Peter defence and head home his 2nd goal of the season.
The Saints, on a desperate run of form with just 1 win in 2015 and having lost 10 of their last 12 games, levelled the game in the 27th minute. After Luke Brooks-Smith crossed Mendy took advantage of an out of position Kallum Lunn, deputising for Richard Ossai who was away with work, and headed the ball home.
The young keeper made a good double save from Aaron Lansiquot and then Hicham Benmadan shortly after before Pearce denied Louis Hutton in first half stoppage time following some fleet-footed work inside the box by the on-loan Brentford midfielder.
The Gs were ahaead again just minutes after the interval after Pearce parried a Roberts cross, allowing Frith to finish the rebound from close range. Mendy was denied by Lunn in the 70th minute before Willment headed a Darren Wheeler corner just over.
With 9 minutes on the clock Lansiquot was played in but Lunn again made an important save, and the hosts held on for victory.
Godalming travel to Potters Bar Town on Saturday 28th March before they enjoy back-to-back home games over the Easter period as Leighton Town and Uxbridge visit Wey Court.
