A second half turnaround saw Godalming overcome Thatcham Town to claim three points at Wey Court. The visitors took an early lead, and then did a good job of stifling Godalming’s attempts at an equaliser. Scott Harris had an effort well blocked by former Gs defender Damien Smith, whilst Dan Read also went close.
Scott Harris pulled the Gs level after a free kick bounced invitingly for him to volley past the Thatcham keeper. The Gs found what proved to be the winner in the 61st minute, when a Warren Harris cross was headed home by Antonio Simeone, for his second goal in as many games. Godalming saw out the final 30 minutes with little threat from the visitors, who had two men sent off in the final minutes, the first for a lunge on Jake Somerville, and the second for dissent following the decision.
Godalming welcome AFC Hayes to Wey Court this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
