Godalming wrapped up a productive pre-season campaign with a 3-0 win over Ryman South side Horsham. Godalming got off to the best possible start when Jack Mazzone capitalised on a slip by Horsham player/manager Gary Charman to tuck the ball past Gareth Williams after only 15 seconds. Will Hutton twice went close for Godalming with long range efforts, whilst at the other end Jamie Cade fired over the crossbar.
Billy Dunn came close to equalising for the visitors, but his long range effort smashed against the crossbar. Graeme Purdy had a golden chance to double Godalming’s lead, but turned Will Hutton’s pull back over the bar from 5 yards. Godalming did get their second soon after, Ashley Lloyd heading a corner back across goal, where sub Andy Crossley was on hand to turn home. Five minutes later it was 3-0, when sub Piers Oldland finished well past Williams, after being fed through by Will Hutton.
Godalming host Marlow on Saturday 9th August in the opening league fixture, kick off 3pm.
