Two goals in each half saw Godalming comfortably overcome Chalfont St Peter. A bright start in the first half from Godalming saw Dan Read turn home from 6 yards out in the 4th minute, after a flick on from Johnnie Dyer. The Gs continued to attack and a thunderous volley from Warren Harris in the 10th minute flew past keeper Michael Power-Simpson from 20 yards leaving him no chance. Jake Somerville then made two important saves for Godalming, before Johnnie Dyer nearly added a third as his effort from a corner flew just past the post.
The second half was a quiet affair, until the 67th minute when Chalfont keeper Power-Simpson gifted Godalming a third when he threw the ball into the ground and straight to substitute Scott Harris who made no mistake with the lobbed finish. Harris got his second of the game and Godalming’s fourth in the 87th minute when Dan Read raced through, and unselfishly squared the ball for Harris for a simple finish.
