A crucial three points moved Godalming level with fellow playoff chasers Worthing and Maidstone. Dan Read headed the Gs into an early lead from an Darren Wheeler cross from the right. It was comfortable from then on for the Gs, who doubled their lead midway through the second half after an exquisite Darren Wheeler lob caught out Casuals keeper Adam Peck, after an excellent pass from George Short. The visitors had two good chances to halve the deficit before the break, but failed to hit the net.
The second half started slowly, with neither side managing to take control of the game. Godalming added their third after 70 minutes when Scott Harris was on hand to finish a rebound, after Wheeler had set up Brett Cooper. Godalming put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute, when Jon Palmer finished past Peck after controlling and finishing from 12 yards.
Godalming XI: Merson, Harrison, Hollis, Simeone, Lake, Edwards, Short, W.Harris (Palmer), Wheeler, Read (Cooper), Dyer (S.Harris). Subs not used: D. Smith, Foulser,
