Godalming’s pre-season campaign continued with a 3-0 win over Combined Counties Premier side Alton Town. Jack Broome captained the side, with newly appointed captain Richard Taylor unavailable.

It took the new-look Gs ten minutes to take the lead, with striker Paul Coventry pouncing on a ball back to the keeper, who he rounded to put the ball into an empty net. A well worked second goal came 20 minutes later, with Adam Everiss sliding the ball through to Bouwe Bosma who finished into the bottom corner. Coventry nearly made it 3-0, but his header from a free-kick came back off the post.

A number of subs were made at half time, but it took the Gs just a couple of minutes to get the third and final goal. Some excellent build-up play saw Coventry pass to Mark Watkins, who finished well into the bottom corner. Chris Musgrove hit the bar as the half drew on, but the scored stayed at 3-0 to continue the good start to pre-season.

Godalming travel to Farnham Town on Tuesday night, before travelling to East Preston next Saturday.
