Godalming Town Ladies 5–0 Bromley Ladies
This was another impressive performance from the Gees Ladies who in view of the FA Cup encounter next week it seems were resting Toni West, Laura Funnell and Steph Le to ensure that they are fit. Such is the depth of the squad that the Gees could still field an impressive squad.
The first half saw the home side dominate much of the possession, but had not created many clear chances. Becky Munroe, who had as always been terrorising the visitors defence with her pace, finally broke the deadlock when she capitalised from a defensive error under pressure and slotted the ball home.
Only minutes later, from a Megan Vincer corner from the left, Becky got her head to the ball steering it home to put the home team 2 -0 up.
Then Tamara Sidwell, out on the left, worked her way past defenders before hitting a great diagonal shot from a tight angle into the net.
Becky Bloor, again putting in plenty of work in the midfield, then found a super diagonal pass, which Megan Vincer latched on to and rounded the visiting keeper before putting the ball in the net.
Godalming Town Ladies 4–0 Bromley Ladies
Gees 4 -0 up at half time and very little from the visitors to worry the home defence, although there was some good flowing passing and approach play from Bromley.
The second half saw another dominant performance and sensible substitutions using the strength in depth of the Gees squad.
Not long into the second half Megan Vincer once again got down the right-hand side and delivered a good ball into the box where Becky Bloor hit it home from just outside the 6-yard box.
There were plenty of other near misses for the Gees and also, towards the end of the game, their visitors when they were unlucky not to get a consolation goal when one effort was ruled offside not long after they had somehow managed to miss an absolute sitter.
But there were never any doubts about who were going to take the points.
Well done again to the Ladies who now face another tremendous challenge at AFC Wimbledon in the F.A Cup next Sunday.
