A first half Roscoe D’Sane goal meant Godalming fell to defeat in their first competitive game for three weeks. Godalming started strongly, with Ben Edwards going close after a couple of minutes. Despite the early pressure, it was the home side who broke the deadlock, when D’Sane popped up at the far post to tap home a low cross from the left. Dan Read had a good chance to equalise, but fired his one on one effort wide. Former Godalming player, James Evans then received his marching orders after being booked for taking a free kick too early. Evans had already been booked for a cynical tackle on Darren Wheeler which saw him substituted due to injury. Despite further pressure, the Gs could not find the equaliser.
The second half continued in much the same vain as the first, with Godalming having more of the ball, but failing to create any clear cut chances. The best chance fell to Dan Read, who headed against the bar after a Scott Harris flick on. Things got worse for the Gs when captain Adam Foulser went off injured after suffering a recurrence of his hamstring injury.
Godalming face title chasing Dulwich Hamlet at home on Tuesday (7.45pm), and admission is half price for all.
