Godalming drew 1-1 at Walton Casuals on Tuesday, with both goals coming in the second half. Before the game, a minutes silence was held for long-serving Godalming clubman Dennis Ford, who sadly passed away earlier in the week.
It was a cagey start to the game, with Godalming’s best chance coming midway through the half, when Dan Read’s one on one slid narrowly past the wrong side of the post. Scott Harris stung the Casuals keeper’s hands with a fierce shot, but both sides went in at half time 0-0. Walton took the lead midway through the second half, when they were awarded a penalty which was duly converted. Ten minutes later, Godalming were awarded a penalty themselves when a Walton defender handled in the area. Dan Read stepped up, but his penalty was well saved low to the keepers right. Luckily for the Gs Jamie McClurg was first in for the rebound, and slotted the ball past Bradshaw. Wes Harrison rattled the Walton bar late on, but in an open end to the game, neither side could find a winner.
