Godalming progressed through to the next round of the FA Cup after a 2-1 away win at Wimborne Town.
The Gs played well in the first half, with Wheeler, Harris and McClurg all going close. Wimborne’s best chance of the half came when Matt Kemble headed wide from a free header.
Scott Harris gave Godalming the lead on 47 minutes, when he swiveled and fired past the Wimborne keeper. George Short grabbed the Gs second when he cooly finished at the far post. The hosts pulled one back in the 83rd minute from a Nathan Lynch header, and piled on the pressure in the last ten minutes, but Godalming held on to ensure a safe passage through to the next round, where they will host Wessex League side Moneyfields.
